Valentina Dellagravis — power, trust and submission

My work is about bringing intelligence, honesty and ethical structure into the parts of human life we usually hide: desire, power, submission, shame, fantasy, sex and gender. I write as a sex worker and practitioner, not as an outside commentator. Through sex work, kink and BDSM, I work directly with people in these liminal spaces and see what happens when conventional politeness and social performance fall away. My approach is sex-positive, feminist, kink-aware and grounded in consent, with an interest in both psychology and the body. I am not interested in sanitising sexuality or turning it into wellness language.

At its heart, my work asks what the erotic can teach us about being human. I use the lived reality of sex work as a way of examining power dynamics, trust, boundaries, vulnerability, identity, sexuality and relationships. Sometimes that means writing about BDSM or fantasy; sometimes about gender, intimacy or the psychology of desire. The common thread is an attempt to look clearly at what happens in the shadows, and to understand what those hidden parts of ourselves can teach us about desire, power and who we are.
